Hinsdale’s Katherine Legge Memorial Park and Lodge–where you can have your wedding reception or meeting or party–has been chosen as one the American Institute of Architects 150 Great Places in Illinois.
The lodge and park, a popular picnic site, are located on 52 acres at 5901 S. County Line Rd. Picnic permits are available by calling 630 789 7095.
Architect R. Harold Zook designed the site in the early 1920s for Alexander Legge, president of International Harvester. The property was donated to the village in 1973.

Mark your datebook: Clarendon Hills will once again host  its Dancin’ in the Street concert series. The 9th annual event, which draws music fans from throughout DuPage County to downtown Clarendon Hills, will start Wednesday, June 18, and run Wednesday nights through Aug. 6.

Burr Ridge is getting new sidewalks as part of a big spring/summer village improvement project. Work, according to village officials, is scheduled for 83rd Street’s south side between south Frontage and County Line roads. Also, a new sidewalk link will be built along the west side of County Line Road between Ashton Place and 91st Street to connect the 91st Street pedestrian ways to County Line Road’s sidewalk.  Additionally, links in the 91st Street sidewalk will be added near Burr Ridge Middle School and at Garfield Avenue. And along the east side of County Line Road between Plainfield Avenue and Longwood Drive a new sidewalk will go in.
